“My seventh and eighth graders helped the pre-k and kindergarten students plant both seeds and seedlings in two elevated mini gardens. Everyone can see the plants easily by standing around the garden, and it is therefore easy for to take pictures or for the kids can monitor the growth. When freeze warnings are given, students can easily protect the beds using a couple of twin-size fitted sheets. We have sampled some of our herbs and look forward to harvesting and eating the rest, maybe even contributing them to our school lunch program!”
